How to Connect a High Bay

When installing a new LED high bay, you want everything to operate safely, efficiently and sustainably. In this article, you will read step-by-step how to correctly mount a high bay, which accessories are essential and how to get the most out of your warehouse or industrial hall lighting.

How do I install an LED high bay?

Connecting an LED high bay is simple, as long as you work carefully. Follow these steps for a safe installation:

  1. Switch off the power.

Ensure that the power supply is fully disconnected before starting.

  2. Mount the fixture.

Use a sturdy chain, bracket or hook to safely mount the high bay to the ceiling or support structure.

  3. Connect the cable set.

Connect the power cable to the correct wires (L, N and earth) according to installation standards.

  4. Check the waterproofing.

For IP65 or IP66 fixtures, make sure the cable gland is properly sealed.

  5. Test the lighting.

Switch the power back on and check whether the LED high bay operates correctly.

Which mounting accessories are essential?

For a safe and neat installation, we recommend two accessories that are often underestimated but essential for long-term performance of your LED high bay:

Wall bracket: ideal when ceiling mounting is not possible or desired. A wall bracket allows you to angle the fixture, for example above work areas, shelving or production lines. This provides more focused lighting and prevents shadowed areas.

Cable set: a professional cable set is more than just a cord. It ensures a safe, waterproof and mechanically stable connection. Thanks to the integrated strain relief, the wiring stays securely in place, even in environments with vibration or dust.

Additionally, the cable set offers another energy-saving benefit. Because it allows the LED high bay to hang slightly lower, in some situations a lower wattage fixture can be used. You maintain the same light output at working height but consume less energy — a clever way to reduce energy costs.

In short: a cable set is not only safer but also increases the reliability of your warehouse or industrial hall lighting. It is a small investment that prevents malfunctions, saves energy and reduces long-term maintenance costs.
