A spike spotlight, commonly referred to as spike lights, is a type of lamp primarily used as garden spike lights. Outdoor spike lights can be used in various ways, with the main purpose being to create a more atmospheric garden. This can be achieved by directing the spike lights onto specific objects such as trees and plants, but also by illuminating hedges, walls, or buildings.

Garden Spike Lights

Garden spike lights are predominantly used in the garden. You can easily place the spots in the garden by pushing them into the ground. The top of the spike lights is usually rotatable by 360 degrees, allowing you to always find the right angle to illuminate an object.

Because garden spike lights have an IP rating of at least IP44, they are ideal for outdoor use. The IP rating indicates the level of protection the spike lights have against dust and water.

Spike Lights GU10 vs Integrated LED

When purchasing spike lights, you often have the choice between a spike lights GU10 fitting or a spotlight with integrated LED. The spike lights GU10 fitting is suitable for one GU10 bulb.

A spike spotlight with integrated LED means that no separate bulbs or spotlights can be placed in it. The spotlight uses an LED strip that cannot be replaced. The advantage of this is that an integrated LED system often has a higher light output. However, the disadvantage is that when the spotlight is completely burnt out, it must be replaced in its entirety.
